On July 27^th there will be a theme night on the topic of "Gift - unser tägliches Risiko" (poison - our daily risk) on the German TV channel Arte. Last thursday Mona Ohlendorf and Matilda Wendelboe presented the first collection items of Cradle to Cradle^® in fashion at the CradleNet FashionShow at the Konstfack in Stockholm/Sweden. They made their collection out of the textiles we already know: Trigema, Backhausen, Pendleton, etc.

Albin Kälin gründet die EPEA Switzerland GmbH.
Cradle to Cradle^®-Innovationen im Fokus bedeutender Industrien und Industriezentren. Back to the Roots.

Der Schweizer Albin Kälin hat als erster Unternehmer gemeinsam mit EPEA in Hamburg Anfang der 90er Jahre die Cradle to Cradle^®-Vision mit den preisgekrönten Textilien Climatex^® in die Tat umgesetzt. Seit 2005 ist Albin Kälin einer der Geschäftsführer der EPEA Internationale Umweltforschung GmbH in Hamburg und seit ihrer Gründung 2008 auch von EPEA Nederland. Er unterstützt Professor Michael Braungart und sein Team, das Cradle to Cradle^®-Konzept weltweit zu positionieren und in der Industrie erfolgsverursachend zu implementieren.
Die letzten drei Jahre standen die Niederlande im primären Fokus der EPEA Internationale Umweltforschung GmbH. Ein ganzes Land auf den Cradle to Cradle^®-Weg zu führen - eine enorme Herausforderung!

Nun gründet Albin Kälin die EPEA Switzerland GmbH und kehrt nach Jahren intensiver Aufbauarbeit in Hamburg und den Niederlanden in seine Heimat zurück. Die EPEA Switzerland GmbH engagiert sich für Cradle to Cradle^®-Projekte aller Industriezweige in der Schweiz, in Österreich und in der Textilindustrie weltweit. EPEA Switzerland wird über die wissenschaftliche Betreuung eng mit EPEA in Hamburg zusammenarbeiten.

Albin Kälin wird deshalb zum Ende des Jahres seine Tätigkeit als Geschäftsführer der EPEA Internationale Umweltforschung GmbH und von EPEA Nederland beenden. Professor Michael Braungart dankt Albin Kälin für das sehr erfolgreiche Engagement in den vergangenen Jahren, die wohl eine der wichtigsten Phasen für sein Unternehmen waren, und freut sich auf die weitere Partnerschaft.

365 Orte - Land der Ideen Auszeichnung ein voller Erfolg.
Am 21. Oktober 2009 fand in dem Gebäude der Patriotischen Gesellschaft eine ganz besondere Feier statt. Die EPEA GmbH wurde als einer von 365 Orten in Deutschland mit einem Innovationspreis ausgezeichnet. Die Preisverleihung nahm ein Vertreter der Deutschen Bank in Hamburg vor. Mitarbeiter, Kunden und Freunde der EPEA nahmen an dem dreistündigen Programm teil, welches einen tiefen Einblick in die Cradle to Cradle^®-Produktvielfalt bot.

Das amerikanische Green Building Council hat das LEED für sein "Homes program" angepaßt, so dass Cradle to Cradle^® zertifizierten Produkten automatisch ein Status als "Umweltfreundliches Produkt" [Environmentally Preferable Products] eingeräumt wird.

Der neue Dokumentarfilm über Michael Braungart und Cradle to Cradle^® wird in den nächsten Wochen fertig gestellt sein. Für die Premiere hat die Filmmacherin Beatrice Sonhüter eine Vorführung geplant mit integrierter Ausstellung von Cradle to Cradle^® Produkten.

Prof. Dr. Michael Braungart nahm an dem Sustainable World Kongress im Juli teil. Neuerdings stehen alle Wortbeiträge als Audio-Mitschnitte (deutsch) zur Verfügung. Michael Braungarts Präsentation kann unter der DRITTEN SESSION: HEALTH & SOCIETY erreicht werden. Dort kann man ihn entweder direkt anhören oder als MP3 downloaden.

Baumzeremonie - Kirschbaum offiziell nach Michael Braungart benannt.
Am 17. Juli 2009 fand in der niederländischen Stadt Oudenbosch eine Baumtaufaktion der besonderen Art statt. Ein Kirschbaum wurde mit dem Namen Prunus avium Michael Braungart benannt. Michael Braungart persönlich wohnte der Taufzeremonie bei. Im Laufe dieser Veranstaltung entstand ein Interview mit ihm (linker Hand ins Menü klicken) durch den lokal ansässigen Fernsehsender Omroep Brabant. Szenen der Taufe werden auch in dem Dokumentationfilm über Cradle to Cradle von Beatrix Sonhüter zu sehen sein.

Interessierte potentielle Käufer für diese Baumsorte werden fündig auf den Seiten von Alphons van der Bom.
